Código Prometeo
YOUR STORY, YOUR MEZCAL
At Código Prometeo, we are dedicated to offering you the best distilled and fermented agave products.
WHAT DO WE DO?
From cultivation and production to packaging and marketing, the quality of our products is based on a process based on good practices, applying ancestral techniques in combination with modern science technology, adhering to our commitment to the care of the ecosystem.
RESOURCES
We have a property of approximately 80 hectares in the region of the Cuecatecan Canyon, in Oaxaca. It is located on the banks of a river, taking advantage of 3 kilometers of water, for the plantation of our laboratory agaves.
Technology
Tissue Cultivation Laboratory
At CÓDIGO PROMETEO, we have a Tissue Cultivation Laboratory where we research, develop and create cloning and sustainability techniques for wild agave species.
The cloning and In Vitro growth of agaves are carried out through a tissue cultivation process.
Mexico is the center of the biological and cultural diversity of Agaves worldwide. Of the 211 known species, at least 159 of them can be found within the national territory, that is, a little more than 75 percent.
However, for more than a decade, as a direct consequence of the mezcal boom in the country. The overexploitation of wild agave has caused many species to be in danger of extinction.
In response to this situation, at CÓDIGO PROMETEO, we plant and cultivate our agaves organically, in addition to rescuing and ensuring the reproduction of endemic species.
Sustainability
CERTIFICATES
Quality and origin guarantees, all our mezcals are endorsed and certified by the Consejo Regulador del Mezcal (CRM), the civil association in charge of safeguarding the Denomination of Origin “Mezcal” (DOM).
"Mezcal is a Protected Designation of Origin. The CRM guarantees the consumer the authenticity of the liquid."

Agave Tourism
Our main objective is to contribute to the growth of the Agave culture, generating events and providing spaces, both physical and virtual, for the development of responsible and beneficial tourism around the millenary plant.
This tourism model should focus on promoting the sustainable development of the Agave, satisfying current needs without compromising the resources of future generations.
ignio investment
Valle de Cuicatlán - OAXACA
The sale and export of beverages derived from Agave have increased in recent years.
We have developed a business model so that interested capitalists can invest in mezcal Agaves, generating high returns in the medium term, strengthening the production of the plant, and strengthening the sector and the economy of the area.
This project, legally backed, is reliable and secure since, from the beginning, the sale of your plantation is assured due to the high demand for Agaves.
With a single investment, you will be able to plant a certain number of specimens in completely viable lands.
We take care of every one of the plants, guaranteeing the necessary conditions for them to reach their optimum development and, consequently, their highest value in the market.
MEZCAL
Our mezcals are certified by the Consejo Regulador del Mezcal for the quality of mezcal, as is our master of mezcal, René Parada Barrida. Being part of this organization guarantees that our lands are within the geographical area protected by the Denomination of Origin Mezcal.
Our Agaves are grown and harvested in the Tehuacán – Cuicatlán Biosphere Reserve, which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list as a mixed site. We currently have mezcal distilled from the Espadín, Mexicano, and Barril plants, as well as some variants of them.
pulque
Thanks to our agreements with local producers, we obtain hundreds of liters of the best mead of the Mexican Altiplano every day. A percentage of that volume is destined for the production of natural pulque and cured pulque for sale in pulque shops, another percentage for bottled pulque for export purposes, and another percentage for pulque distillate or Pulcata.
